RE: OMG, you are dealing mainly with young people, not all Americans use that expression. Pineapple is not that common, just some people eat that. If you go to different areas of the US, you can find a variety of foods and things that you won't find in other parts of the country.

Your video was not completely correct. You Generalized too much about everything. So that people know, we have the North, South, East and West. In each part, the area, people and food are different. Again, this video and information was off base.

Aww!!! At last a new video from our favorite (former) exchange student. Thanks for taking the time to show us a little of your home in Italy and taking us along on your trip to Amsterdam. Looks so different from So. Dakota that's for sure!! LOL... The buildings there are so majestic and beautifully artistic. We have nothing like that here in the states. And so many bikes there in the Netherlands. Does anyone drive a car???... LOL What a healthy lifestyle. But as you know distances here are often so great that it is just not feasible to ride a bike everywhere. I wish we could though. Hello to your brother and uncle Susanne. Tell them we really enjoyed sharing your experiences as an exchange student and hope that someday you will come back to see more of this great big country. Again we wish the best for you and all of Italy in the aftermath of all of the earthquakes that have occurred. You were the first student that we followed for start to finish of you exchange year and so we feel we got to know you and watch you grow up for that time. Hello former exchange student. We followed you during your exchange in So Dakota and are just wondering how you are doing these days? We hope you are you are doing great and enjoying being back home in your beautiful country. Our hearts were saddened when we learned of the devastating earthquake that stuck Italy last month. Our kids prayed that you and your family were safe. Well, we just wanted to greet you and say again that we really enjoyed getting to know you. Hi Susanne. I have commented on a few of your videos because I really like them and think you are a great kid. This video really says a lot about you and your adaptability and positive nature. I work for a private school and most of the children come from very wealthy families. Most of them are really good kids who work hard and want to accomplish many things in life. But many others do not learn how to adapt to new circumstances and environments. They really could take a lesson from you on this. I think that when you are older, say in you 20's and you look back on yourself at this age and during your exchange you will be proud of yourself all over again. I think I will send some of them to view this video. You are an amazing young lady and your english is better than many Americans. No joke, it really is!!!

Great editing Susanne. You have quite the ability to make an event seem interesting and exciting. Maybe Hollywood is the place for you. I always enjoy you videos. I have seen them all. Enjoy you stay, Go USA...and ITALY...

Hopefully, you will find Americans to be the varied people that we are. Also, you will experience the drastic fluctuations of midwestern US weather. Thanks for visiting :) and studying. You speak English really well. I hope I can speak Italian even half as well as you when I (hopefully) visit Europe much later this year.

You have a level of maturity far beyond your age. I think that these relations that you are experiencing and realizing would have occurred to you whether you were an exchange student or not. You quite simply are an open-minded and very self aware person. Americans span the entire spectrum, from open minded and tolerant to biased and prejudiced. But I think that most of us will ultimately take to position that allows for individuals to pursue their right to freedom and personal happiness. Remember this is a big, big country and no single opinion on any issue applies to everyone. We very often disagree with our government policies, on both domestic and foreign issues. Everyone is allowed their opinion. I like that and as long as we treat others with respect and not do them any harm we are good global citizens. Remember though that sometimes it is necessary to take a stand against tyranny.

Sometimes a way of doing something is not better or worse. Right or wrong. Sometimes it is just different.

Wow you sound very mature for a 16 yr old. You have a open mind and are willing to try new things. I have a daughter your age and I want her to hear what you have to say. Perhaps she will learn a valuable lesson about trying new things and growing into an independent adult. I am sure you family is very proud of you. Best of luck in your future. Oh, by the way we live in Seattle. Have you ever been over here?? It is really beautiful. Also, we think your country is very special. So much history, and significance to the Western Civilization. From the Vatican and the seat of the Catholic Church, to the Holy Roman Empire to the many ancient sites like the Coliseum, Florence, Milan and Venice. The fashion industry in Milan and yes, Ferrari's. We appreciate your great culture and thank you for your kind words about ours. Ciao.

Another thing is that when you say every city is the same because they have the same businesses, that's only partially correct. Yes there are a lot of "chains" in America. But there's also a lot of unique stores and restaurants that are only at that place as well, especially in big cities. Near the big highways are usually mostly chains, but that's because most travelers are more comfortable with shopping and dining at places they already know. Like, for example, if you were a traveller going through a city you didn't know well, you would be more likely to stop at a Taco Bell than at some weird Mexican restaurant you never heard of. Most of the unique stores and restaurants are deeper in the city, away from the major highways. Love your videos though. I subscribed. Keep them up. And do them in English! And I love ice and raw broccoli!

They only say oh my god a lot in high school. Once you're 25 or older you rarely say that. And there's other nuts that don't in end in nut, like pecan, for example.
